New Azimuts for New Zealand

The New Zealand distributor for Azimut Yachts, Pinnacle Marine European Ltd, has confirmed the sale of two new Azimut models, a 66 Flybridge and a Magellano 53.

The owners of the Magellano 53 will take delivery in Italy, enjoying the waters of the Mediterranean over the northern summer before shipping the yacht back to New Zealand.

“These first-time buyers viewed the 53 Magellano with us at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September 2018 and fell in love with its style/ concept and configuration,” says Grant Saunders, Dealer Principal of Pinnacle Marine.

“We will hand the yacht over to them in Italy in May where they plan to enjoy some of the European summer onboard in the Mediterranean before shipping the yacht to its new home in New Zealand. We have arranged an experienced local captain and put together a cruising itinerary for them, ensuring they have maximum enjoyment from the experience.”
Arriving in April, the 66 Flybridge model will be the first to feature the new ‘Riviera’ interior, which comprises brushed desert oak, pearl tai and gloss mahogany textures. It will be homed in Westhaven Marina.

The 66 Flybridge has a four-plus-one crew cabin configuration, along with five heads. Power comes from twin Caterpillar C18 1150hp engines with a cruise speed of 28 knots and top speed of 32 knots.

The 2018 Cannes Yachting Festival saw a record number of Kiwi buyers attend the show, says Saunders.

“Attending the show presents many advantages to potential buyers, not only being able to view the entire range in one location, but also having the ability to take advantage of show specials.”

This year’s Cannes Yachting Festival is scheduled for September 10–15, when Azimut will release up to five new models to celebrate the company’s 50th year.
