See you at the show

The Auckland Boat Show is back – with a new format and venue.

After a somewhat challenging year the show’s been rescheduled for 8-11th October. Interior exhibits are to be staged in The Cloud and Shed 10, while on-water exhibitors will be found in the Viaduct Harbour Marina.
“We’re hearing feedback that plenty of New Zealanders are planning to spend more time on the water this year, and we’re looking forward to giving the boating public a place to see the latest releases,” says organiser Stacey Cook.
This year’s displays carry plenty of new fishing gear, as well as new-release trailer boats, a bumper range of amphibious craft, RIBs, and marine supplies.
Moving the venue has created more space for interior exhibitors, giving greater numbers of local industry companies the ability to exhibit. Exhibitors in Shed 10 and The Cloud present a wide range of marine accessories, including watersports, anti-fouling, engines, fishing gear, marine electronics, safety gear and other equipment.
Yamaha’s revolutionary Helm Master EX – a fully-integrated boat control system with joystick manoeuvrability – will be demonstrated. Hunting and Fishing returns with latest fishing releases, and Coastguard will once again be on site encouraging boaters to ensure their membership is up to date before they hit the water.
New exhibitors include the New Zealand Electric Boat Company, showcasing electric technology, including a new boat from Urban Bleu and a range of electric motors. Also new to the show is See-Level – presenting a new anti-seasick solution.
The show’s sea trial area returns, giving visitors the opportunity to experience various trailer boats, RIBS, amphibious boats and other vessels. Always popular with punters, sea trials give buyers the ability to see how a boat moves and performs on the water.
Boats available for sea trial include a Boston Whaler (Sports Marine), the Stabicraft 2250 (Kev & Ians Marine), Whangarei’s ever popular Blackdog Cats, a 616 Explorer with Innovision Boats and many others.
The America’s Cup will also be back on display giving visitors the chance to test their grinding skills against Cup sailors’ records – courtesy of the Harken Grinder Challenge.

Tickets are on sale now and each online ticket purchase puts the buyer into the draw to win from a prize pool of marine goodies.
