PINNACLE MARINE, NEW ZEALAND’S dealer for Elan has revealed the new yacht in its performance range, the 14.3m (47ft) Elan E6.
The E6 is the result of a collaboration between Elan, Pininfarina, Humphreys Yacht Design and composite specialist Gurit.
Elan’s E line is the performance side of Elan’s range. Recognised by the active chine design, twin rudders and t-shaped keels, these performance cruisers are the choice for serious sailors who also expect high levels of comfort and cruising amenities.
The E6 is intended to be the fastest, lightest and stiffest 47ft production performance cruiser on the market, with vacuum-assisted infusion lamination technology and a fully-fitted interior. Humphreys Yacht Design developed a brand-new hull for the E6.
Elan’s E-Line yachts are known for their good performance in a fresh breeze, especially downwind, but this new-generation hull is also expected to be quick in light airs, due to its high sail area to displacement ratio.
While the E6 is easily sailed by an experienced couple, it is meant to be sailed with a good crew. Three pairs of Harken winches are ideally positioned for precision trimming and fast unobstructed movements. For more cruising minded sailors, optional storage boxes with a grill, sink and a refrigerator are available, as well as two sizes of bathing platforms.
The Pininfarina interior blends aesthetics with functionality by. The space is brought alive by natural oak-veneered interior, enriched with solid wood finish. Optional okoume (or Gabon) timber furniture keeps the weight down. The E6 also comes with a fully equipped galley with a front-opening fridge and optional microwave or coffee machine.
Auckland’s Pinnacle Marine has confirmed an E6 demonstrator will arrive here in August 2022.
