RMK Marine in Turkey has been awarded the construction of a 65m superyacht to be built to a design by Ivan Erdevicki and his Vancouver, Canada-based studio, ER Yacht Design.

ER65 – a working title – will boast state-of-the-art luxury features, ice & polar class requirements, latest generation hybrid propulsion, a helipad with re-fueling station, hangar for the tenders and for a deep water submarine with dedicated watertight compartment.

ER65 will become the flagship of the yacht division of RMK Marine, whose commercial counterpart has built and delivered a number of ships of over 150m in length.

The interior design is also by Ivan Erdevicki’s studio. It will accommodate 12 guests and a crew of 20, on five decks. Other amenities will include a library, sauna, gym, beach club, massage room, and medical room, as well as additional accessories such as two eight-metre custom built aluminum expedition tenders and jet skis to be stored in the tender garage, with port and starboard hull doors and telescopic cranes.

‘This is the kind of project that a yacht designer waits for all his life – said Ivan Erdevicki, founder and CEO of ER Yacht Design-. The owner specifically requested a custom-designed long-range go-anywhere project for an expedition motor yacht, with style and an elegant timeless-classic look, that I was very happy to land on his desk’.

ER65 will be used as a true expedition vessel continuously cruising the world. The owner plans to visit the polar regions as well as tropical areas of the world.

Built to strict Lloyd’s ice class standards and polar class requirements, ER65 will be one of very few yachts to carry the title of Polar Code Category B – Ice Class PC 6. The keel will be laid during the third quarter of 2022, while the yacht will be completed in 2025.

RMK Marine was established in Tuzla (Istanbul) in 1997 as part of the Ko9 Group, a Turkish industrial and services conglomerate. The shipyard, which is also involved in refit, repair and restoration projects, is widely known for the realization of world-class motor and sailing superyachts such as Nazenin V, Twilight, Caressa Kand Karia, and has won many awards.
