North America’s premier marine industry trade event, the International BoatBuilders’ Exhibition and Conference (IBEX), has opened its Call for Proposals (CFP) for the 2025 IBEX Education Conference. The event, renowned for its world-class training, workshops, and technical seminars, will take place from October 7 to 9, 2025, at the Tampa Convention Center.

The IBEX Education Conference consistently delivers top-tier programming, with the 2024 event featuring 83 speakers across more than 80 sessions, including seminars, Main Stage presentations, Pre-Conference sessions, and Tech Talks. Tailored for marine industry professionals, the conference focuses on technical innovations, leadership, and sector-specific training. Proposals should highlight emerging trends, innovative technologies, and relevant topics shaping the marine industry today.

“We take great pride in the diversity and excellence of the IBEX Education Conference,” said Mary Velline, IBEX Show Director. “The technical training offered through our sessions directly drives innovation and expertise in the marine industry. We invite exhibitors and educators to help shape next year’s conference by proposing topics that address the needs and challenges of our industry.”

2025 Call for Proposals

The CFP invites submissions for the Seminar Series, a core component of the conference that provides technical education from industry experts. While all proposals are welcome, submissions must directly pertain to the marine industry and remain non-promotional in nature. The Seminar Series is organised into ten tracks:

  1. Construction Methods and Materials
  2. Design and Engineering
  3. Emerging Topics
  4. Leadership
  5. Management Policy
  6. Marina and Boatyard Operations
  7. Marine Electrical Systems
  8. Marine Onboard Systems
  9. Survey and Repair
  10. Sustainability

Additionally, the CFP is open for submissions to Pre-Conference Sessions and Tech Talk Workshops:

  • Pre-Conference Sessions: Held on October 6, 2025, these full- or half-day programs provide in-depth training opportunities led by companies and organizations.
  • Tech Talk Workshops: Presented by exhibitors during exhibit hall hours, these workshops allow companies to showcase a specific product or service. Availability is limited, and a fee applies.

Submission Guidelines

Proposals must be submitted by December 20, 2024. For detailed guidelines or to submit a proposal, visit the official IBEX CFP portal [here]. For questions, contact Patty Lawrence.

Help shape the future of marine industry innovation by contributing to the 2025 IBEX Education Conference!
