Adventure in luxury

As demand for far-flung adventure and one-of-a-kind experiences grows, leading yacht company Y.CO has brought two of the largest luxury sailing yachts in the world, the 81m Sea Eagle and 86m Aquijo, to New Zealand this season for charter work.

Their arrival coincides with a spike in New Zealand tourism, as the number of overseas visitors to the nation last year was reportedly up 25% on 2023. Sea Eagle was the largest yacht to participate in the Millennium Cup in Auckland in early February and is available to charter in New Zealand until May.

For all her sailing prowess, there is no compromise when it comes to comfort on board, says Tamsin Priestley, from the Y.CO Charter Team.

Sea Eagle, although very much a ‘super’ yacht in her proportions, hasn’t lost any sailing performance…. The combination of incredible sailing and the perspective it gives on some of the most remote, most beautiful destinations on the planet, along with the amazing amenities, is unbeatable. It’s no wonder the guest feedback is so consistently excellent.”

Offering seven cabins, Aquijo is ideal for large groups wishing to discover the very best of the South Pacific. Guests have three outdoor bars, a beach club complete with steam room and sauna as well as sociable and expansive deck spaces in which to relax at their disposal.

Fleur Tomlinson, of Y.CO Auckland comments “Both of these beautiful vessels offer such unique and exemplary propositions that charter guests are guaranteed to fall in love with New Zealand. We are proud to be at the forefront of the growing popularity of yachting in the region and look forward to showcasing what these beautiful islands have to offer to our clients.”
