Hutchwilco’s growth continues with both new personal and high-profile product line coming into the mix.

O’Brien has a new home with leading New Zealand marine wholesaler Hutchwilco set to take over the distribution of the world leading water sports brand. Complimenting the onboarding of this new product line is young vibrant water sport fanatic Will Geldard.

After 14 years managing the O’Brien watersports brand in New Zealand, current distributor Wake Action Sports, owned by Bruce Narbey based out of Tauranga has decided to hang up his water-skis. Bruce has been a fantastic representative for the industry in leading the O’Brien brand and is the reason for its strength in the New Zealand market.

“We’re delighted to be adding this premium brand to our business. It adds huge value in completing the gap in our wholesale offering, continuing our longstanding reputation as the go to for marine retailers in New Zealand” says Tim Ritchie, Hutchwilco General Manager.

Hutchwilco take over the distribution of O’Brien in New Zealand from the 1st of April in what is an exciting time for Hutchwilco and O’Briens American owners who will continue to supply and grow watersport products for the kiwi boatie.

Jumping onboard the Hutchwilco sales team is upcoming Sales Executive Will Geldard who joins the crew under the leadership of highly respected Sales Manager Andrew George. Will brings a new face for Hutchwilco’s retailers from Taupo to Cape Reinga. No stranger to the industry Will’s family roots date right back to his Grandfather who is Hutchwilco Boat Show Hall of Fame inductee Trevor Geldard and father Blair who owns Advance Trident.

Will shares “I’ve got a huge respect for the water with a passion for all things in and around it, I enjoy boating, fishing, diving and all things watersports. My family’s connection with the marine industry for over 40 years has allowed me to gain a real appreciation for the people and businesses within it. I’m really looking forward to getting stuck into my new role, getting to know our dealers and customers to help them maximise their sales opportunities and driving growth across our products.”

“For Hutchwilco we’re about providing our retailers and boaties with the best quality and range of marine safety and water sport products to get the best out of their time on the water. The onboarding of Will and the O’Brien brand is just a fantastic addition to our water sport product range and crew, it really helps to complete it” says Mr Ritchie.

Boaties can get excited to see the full range of O’Brien products at this year’s Hutchwilco New Zealand Boat Show with product available to our valued retailers from the 1st of April.
