Published

Turkish shipyard VisionF Yachts is ushering in a new era of luxury living on the water with the launch of its first-ever fully-electric catamaran, the VisionF E-Cat 80. This groundbreaking vessel isn’t just a yacht—it’s a statement of sustainable sophistication, offering a glimpse into the future of oceanic living. The 24-metre catamaran touched the water at the company’s Tuzla-based shipyard, setting a new benchmark for comfort, efficiency, and modern design.

Crafted from lightweight yet durable carbon fibre, the VisionF E-Cat 80 is designed by Marco Casali of TOO Design, featuring sleek, contemporary lines that reflect both beauty and performance. With twin hulls engineered by Dr. Amedeo Migali of MICAD, this high-tech catamaran offers unrivalled stability and efficiency, making long-term stays on the water more viable than ever before.

At its core, the E-Cat 80 is powered by two Danfoss electric motors, each providing 180 kW of continuous power, with peak output reaching 340 kW. Bow and stern thrusters ensure effortless manoeuvrability, making docking and navigating tight spaces a breeze. Capable of reaching speeds of up to 16 knots, this yacht blends power with precision, ensuring a smooth ride wherever the sea takes you.

A self-sufficient oceanic retreat

Embodying the philosophy of off-grid luxury, the VisionF E-Cat 80 features 54 solar panels that continuously charge its robust battery system, generating up to 21.6 kW per hour. This self-sustaining energy system allows for extended voyages without reliance on external power sources—bringing the dream of oceanic independence closer to reality. Twin 150 kW generators provide backup energy when needed, further enhancing efficiency during high-speed cruising or in emergency situations.

Space to live, relax, and explore

Designed for both private ownership and charter escapes, the E-Cat 80 is a home away from home—or perhaps even a home in itself. With a generous 10.92-metre beam and 23.97-metre length, the yacht comfortably accommodates up to 12 guests, with dedicated crew quarters for four to ensure impeccable service. The semi-custom layout options allow owners to personalise their onboard living space, transforming the yacht into a sanctuary tailored to their lifestyle.

Every inch of the interior is designed with comfort and functionality in mind, creating an environment where modern luxury meets the tranquillity of the open sea. Whether you’re seeking solitude or entertaining guests, the E-Cat 80 is an unparalleled floating retreat.

The ultimate playground for water lovers

For those who love adventure, the E-Cat 80 is equipped with a fully customisable garage, perfect for housing an array of water toys. Whether it’s jet skis, sea scooters, scuba diving equipment, or water skis, this catamaran is built for exploration. The sea is your backyard, and the possibilities are endless.

The future of yachting—And a glimpse of what’s to come for New Zealand

VisionF Yachts has been making waves in the power catamaran world since its founding in 2019 by Coşkun Bayraktar, and with the E-Cat 80, they continue to push the limits of what’s possible. While it may take some time before we see this model in New Zealand waters, one thing is clear—this is where luxury living on the ocean is heading. As demand for eco-conscious, high-tech yachts grows, the E-Cat 80 sets the standard for a new kind of seafaring lifestyle.

The first unit is set for delivery soon, with additional models already on the horizon. For those dreaming of making the sea their new home, the VisionF E-Cat 80 is proof that the future of yachting is closer than ever.
