AB Equipment Marine & Industrial Power, alongside Onshore Marine Ltd, is proud to announce the supply FPT marine engines to the NZ Navy Trades Training School in Devonport, Auckland.

This school produces some of New Zealand’s best-trained marine technicians, preparing them for successful careers in the Navy.
Along with the engines, we’re also providing parts, special tooling, technical information, and ongoing support to help train the next generation of marine engineers.

“There is an industry wide shortage of skilled marine engineers, and this was a very good opportunity to help support the school and the next generation of technicians coming through.” says Adrian Penman, Sales Manager at AB Marine Power Products.

Josh Wedding from Onshore Marine is a past graduate of the school and spent eight years in the Navy specialising as a Marine Propulsion Engineer. As a business owner today, he appreciates the valuable training the school provides.

“Some of the best marine technicians have been trained at this school and we presently employ two of them at Onshore Marine. It’s great to be able to utilise this experience to actively support the school along with FPT engines.

The first trainees will begin diesel engine training next month, starting with the FPT N45 engine, which will undergo a full strip-down, rebuild, and dyno testing.

For more information about the FPT marine engine range, contact Onshore Marine Ltd or AB Equipment Marine Power Products.
