From 15–18 May, Tristram Marine will open its Hamilton production facility for a rare and informative in-house event. For anyone with an interest in New Zealand boatbuilding—from current owners to prospective buyers and marine industry professionals—it’s an opportunity to see how a locally designed and manufactured vessel comes together, from raw materials to finished product.

Tristram has long been recognised for its performance trailer boats and consistent build quality. What sets this event apart is the chance to observe the full production process firsthand. Daily guided factory tours will take visitors through each stage of construction, including hull lamination, assembly, fitout, and final detailing. The tours are hosted by members of the Tristram team, many of whom have been with the company for years and bring deep technical knowledge to the conversation.

This open event also provides a practical chance to explore the different models in the Tristram range, including the Hardtop, Targa, and Cabriolet series. Both new and pre-owned boats will be available to view, with the team on hand to explain the design decisions, rigging setups, and onboard features that define each model. Whether you’re focused on offshore capability, family cruising, or a balance of both, the lineup reflects the varied ways New Zealanders use their boats.

Tristram Marine is still a family-owned and operated business. The company has grown steadily over the years while maintaining its core values of craftsmanship, local production, and customer support. Their commitment to New Zealand-based manufacturing has seen the Hamilton facility continue to expand, with all design, lamination, engineering, and finishing done on site. The result is a high degree of quality control and a team that works closely across departments to ensure consistency throughout every build.

For existing owners, the in-house event is also a chance to take advantage of on-site servicing and grooming. Pre-booked service slots are available during the open days, with the option to use a hot desk or private office while the team takes care of your boat. This approach reflects the company’s emphasis on long-term relationships with its customers—not just at the point of purchase, but across the lifetime of the vessel.

Visitors will also be able to hear directly from Tristram owners, offering useful insight into how the boats perform in real-world conditions and what the ownership experience is like over time. These conversations are often just as valuable as the boats on display, especially for those considering a purchase.

Tristram’s in-house event is not a sales event in the traditional sense. It’s an open invitation to better understand what goes into building a high-performance New Zealand boat. For those interested in design, construction, and the people behind one of the country’s most awarded marine brands, it’s an opportunity worth taking. No registration is required—visitors are welcome to attend any time during open hours across the four days.
