Domestic Pathway Lead: Will Maling

Rowing NZ’s new Domestic Pathway Lead Will Maling

Will brings a wealth of experience from both New Zealand and Australia, with a proven track record of developing successful rowing programmes and guiding athletes from grassroots to international representation. Most recently, he served as Rowing Director at Nudgee College in Queensland, where he led the implementation of Individual Development Plans and oversaw the school’s most successful State Championships in its history.

Will’s extensive background includes leadership roles at Nudgee College, Prince Alfred College, Rowing South Australia, Auckland Grammar, and Mount Albert Grammar. His coaching and leadership have contributed to national titles and athlete progressions to U19, U21 and elite teams.

With strengths in strategic planning, athlete development, and team unification, Will is well-positioned to lead the Domestic Pathway and support our vision of excellence in rowing from school to high-performance levels.

Her understanding of the evolving landscape around development opportunities for young athletes is an asset in the role.
