RORC announces dates for 2027 Admiral’s Cup, building on spectacular comeback

London, UK – 19th August 2025. Following the outstanding success of its much-anticipated revival this year after a hiatus of more than two decades, the Royal Ocean Racing Club (RORC) is delighted to announce the official dates for the next edition of the Admiral’s Cup, to be held in 2027.

The 2027 Admiral’s Cup will take place from 15th to 30th July, once again bringing together the world’s top offshore racing teams to compete for one of the sport’s most prestigious trophies. Building on the energy and enthusiasm of the 2025 event – the first since 2003 – the RORC expects an even larger international fleet, showcasing elite talent and fierce national pride on the water.

Event Schedule 2027: Thursday 15th July (first day of measurement and inspection) to Saturday 24th July 2027(Start of the Rolex Fastnet Race).

“The 2025 Admiral’s Cup marked a new chapter for this historic competition,” commented Admiral’s Cup Race Director, Steve Cole. “The response from sailors, teams, and supporters was extraordinary. The passion, skill, and camaraderie on display proved that the Admiral’s Cup remains the ultimate test of team racing in offshore sailing. In 2027, we intend to raise the bar even higher.”

Pierre Casiraghi, Vice President and skipper of the victorious 2025 Yacht Club de Monaco team, commented: “The Admiral’s Cup is an extraordinary event, brilliantly organised and fiercely competitive. I’m so proud to have been part of it.”

The Admiral’s Cup, first contested in 1957, quickly became known as the unofficial world championship of offshore racing, attracting national teams from across the globe. The event’s demanding format – combining inshore and offshore races, including the famous Rolex Fastnet Race – challenges every facet of a team’s skill, endurance, and tactical brilliance.

RORC will confirm further details of the 2027 edition – including entry criteria, race schedule, and social programme – in the coming months. Teams from across Europe, the Americas, Asia, and Oceania have already expressed strong interest in returning or making their debut in this celebrated competition.
