Braveheart 2 is a classic Lowland 80 motor yacht with proven ocean legs. Built in Holland in 1987 by Neth Ships Lowland Yachts BV, she carries the touch of Pieter Beeldsnijder both inside and out. The hull and superstructure are aluminium, welded throughout, with a single hull and double bottom for strength. Twin screw propulsion and fin stabilisers deliver easy tracking and a soft motion at sea.

With an overall length of 25.75 metres and a beam just under six metres, she sits in the sweet spot for private voyaging. A 1.65 metre draft keeps most anchorages on your map. The numbers tell a reassuring story for coastal and offshore plans. Expect about 57 litres an hour across both engines and generators at a steady 10 knots, with a range near 2,000 nautical miles. Top speed is around 16 knots when you need to push the tide or the weather window.

Design and build pedigree

The Beeldsnijder line gives the Lowland 80 motor yacht a timeless profile. The hull is fair and purposeful, the house lines are clean, and deck movement is safe. The build brief focused on strength, simplicity, and service access. The aluminium structure keeps weight in check and resists corrosion when well maintained. The twin MAN D2842 LE diesels, 769 hp each, sit on solid foundations with clear service space. Shafts and running gear were renewed during the refit, so the drivetrain feels tight and honest.

Range, efficiency, and systems on the Lowland 80 motor yacht

This is an economical cruiser rather than a planing flyer. She settles into a quiet 10 knot passage speed that suits long legs and light fuel burn. Tankage and gensets support independent cruising for weeks. Fin stabilisers tame the roll at anchor and underway, which lifts comfort and reduces fatigue. Engine rebuilds, new shafts, and new generators formed part of the 2016 works, along with tank replacement and full hull stripping. The result is a systems platform that feels refreshed, with many big ticket items already handled.

Interior layout and finish

Step inside and you find a light beech interior with dark timber trims. The saloon is fully carpeted, set up for social time with a bar, a large C shaped sofa, and a dining table for six. The open galley uses granite countertops and modern appliances, so meal prep stays easy on passage or in port. Accommodation is generous for family and guests. The full beam master carries a queen berth and his and hers bathrooms. A forward VIP cabin sits ahead, while two twin guest cabins each add Pullman berths for flexible sleeping. In total you can sleep up to ten without squeezing. The finish reads warm rather than fussy, practical rather than fragile.

Decks, handling, and watchkeeping

The wheelhouse offers clear sightlines and direct access to the side decks. That matters in tight marinas and when working the ground tackle. Up top, the flybridge has a central helm, guest seating, and storage for safety gear. A stainless Bimini frame stands ready for shade. The aft deck shows classic yacht thinking with a teak cockpit, a big lazarette, and a mezzanine seating area that feels made for long dusk dinners. Forward, the sunpad and windlass sit on a clean foredeck, with space to work in a breeze. The package feels honest and seaworthy, which is what you want in a yacht of this range.

Where she has been and where she is now

Braveheart 2 launched for the United States market, then shifted to New Zealand and later to Australia, meeting strict safety standards along the way. In 2016 she received a comprehensive refit at Boat Works in Coomera, Queensland, with a reported spend over one million Australian dollars. Since then she has cruised widely and now lies at Nongsa Point Marina in Batam, close to Singapore, under the New Zealand flag. That location suits handover for South East Asian cruising or a simple hop to the Indian Ocean.
