What’s new
Raymarine and Suzuki Marine have joined forces to bring engine integration to Raymarine’s Axiom chartplotters. With the latest LightHouse 4.10 software update, Suzuki outboard owners can now tap into a dedicated Suzuki app right from their Axiom screen.
That means all your critical engine info is right there alongside your charts, sonar, and radar. No more darting your eyes around to check a cluster of gauges — it’s all in one place.
What you’ll actually see
Once you fire up the Axiom, you can keep an eye on the essentials: RPMs, speed over ground, trim and tilt, oil pressure, coolant temperature, fuel levels, alternator voltage, and rudder position. The system even includes turn angle indicators, which makes manoeuvring in tight marinas smoother.
Anglers will appreciate that Suzuki’s Troll Mode is included too, holding a steady low-RPM speed for trolling lures.
And if something goes wrong — say low oil pressure, overheating, or water in the fuel — the Axiom will throw a clear alert on screen. No more relying on a tiny light hidden on the dash.
Trip planning made easy
The Suzuki app isn’t just about diagnostics. It adds a full trip data page: engine hours, trip distance, fuel burn, fuel flow, economy, and even “distance to go.”
Heading out towards the Alderman Islands or running north to the Mokes? You’ll know if you’ve got the range to get there and back without guesswork.
This isn’t just for trailer boats. Yes, it cleans up the dash nicely on a single-engine runabout, but it also scales up. The app can handle up to four engines at once, perfect for serious offshore rigs running triple or quad Suzukis.
Think of it as a glass-cockpit upgrade that used to only be found on big inboards, now available for outboard setups of all sizes.
Getting it on your boat
- You’ll need an Axiom display — whether it’s Axiom, Axiom+, Pro, XL, or the newer Axiom 2.
- Update to LightHouse 4.10 (or the latest 4.x release).
- Connect through Suzuki’s NMEA 2000 gateway (part no. 34923-96L13).
If you’ve got an older motor, Raymarine or your Suzuki dealer can advise on the right adapters.
From crossing the Manukau Bar to chasing tuna off Northland, Kiwi boaties rely on engines that won’t let them down. Having all your engine data and alerts on one screen isn’t just a neat trick — it’s peace of mind.
For small boats it means a tidier helm. For offshore game boats it means confidence over long passages. For everyone, it’s about spending less time worrying about the motors and more time enjoying the water.
