Race World Offshore’s first fully independent season began on the cold rollers of Lake Michigan and ended in the tropical calm of Key West. Four rounds: Michigan City, Chicago, Clearwater and Key West reshaped the hierarchy of American offshore racing.

In Pro Class 1, XINSURANCE South looked untouchable early, sweeping both Midwest rounds. Then GC Racing’s 48-foot MTI shocked the paddock at Clearwater, breaking the streak; only for Monster Energy / M•CON to snatch the overall event on Sunday. By the time the fleet reached Key West, M•CON’s momentum carried them to the world title, closing a season-long three-way duel with GC Racing and XINSURANCE South.

The Super Cat rivalry between C.J. Grant Racing / Graydel and Dirty Money Racing defined the year. Dirty Money won both Chicago heats, traded blows at Clearwater, then dominated Key West to finish undefeated. Throttleman Bill Pyburn called Key West “one of the toughest races I’ve been in,” after breaking a rudder late in the final but still finishing ahead of their nearest rivals.

In Super Stock, the 32-foot outboard fleet became offshore’s most competitive theatre. Nautical Ventures broke through at Clearwater and sealed the class crown in Key West, while Wozencraft and Hi-Tech Deck kept them honest all year.

Further down the roster, Spirit of Qatar swept Extreme, Farnsworth Motorsports won Super Vee with Anthony Smith at the throttles, and grassroots teams such as Rum Runners and MDG Offshore Racing showed that bracket racing remains the sport’s beating heart.

Monster Energy, Dirty Money and Nautical Ventures crowned in Key West

Freed from its former APBA framework, Race World Offshore’s 2025 season proved the strength of independence; a calendar built for racers, governed by GPS precision and safety, and watched by fans world-wide. From the freshwater of Lake Michigan to the turquoise of the Florida Straits, 2025 was a year when offshore racing found its new rhythm.
