The Scott Lane Boatbuilders team are busy with another Valder Yacht. Boat 2 (SL17) is well under construction and due for launching later this year. The vessel is 20.6 metres long with a beam of 6.7metres.

The first Valder Yacht – Boat 1 (SL16) The Keys (pictured) was launched in mid-2021. She is now in Florida being enjoyed by her owners.

Parts of the third Valder Yacht – Boat 3 (SL18), which is a flybridge version – have also been finished.

These foil-assisted catamarans are designed by Roger Hill. They are made entirely of carbon fibre. These boats offer custom luxuriousness with the extra capability and excitement of speed.

All of the structural work of Boat 2 (SL17) is complete. The boatbuilders are now well into engine room and joinery fitouts. All of the other major components – cabin top/flight deck, forward decks and topsides – are made and stored in the workshop and yard ready to be put together very soon.

Like The Keys, this pleasure cat will also be powered by twin 1300hp MANs, ready and waiting on the workshop floor.

Some major differences between this boat and The Keys is a change in driveline, from conventional shaft drives to Q Speed surface drives. Hydraulic thrusters and anchor winch have been chosen over electric as used in Boat 1. Bulkheads have been pushed and pulled with another ensuite being added. Steps have been removed in the master cabin and saloon/galley to give a massive uninterrupted floor space.

The exciting and innovative Valder Yacht, Boat 2 (SL17), will ‘turn heads’ once on the water.
