Henri-Lloyd returns to the Auckland Boat Show with The Chandlery

For decades, Henri-Lloyd has been synonymous with innovation and durability in marine clothing. From pioneering waterproof seam taping to introducing non-corrosive zips, the brand has consistently led the way in foul-weather gear. Now, after a long absence from the New Zealand market, Henri-Lloyd is making waves once again—this time at the Auckland Boat Show, thanks to The Chandlery, a marine outfitter based in Russell, Bay of Islands.

Since October 2024, The Chandlery has been the exclusive New Zealand stockist of Henri-Lloyd, working alongside Henri-Lloyd Australia to reintroduce the legendary brand to Kiwi sailors. Following a successful showcase at Bay of Islands Sailing Week, The Chandlery is bringing an expanded selection to the Auckland Boat Show from March 6-9, offering show-only deals, first access to new releases, and even a chance to win Henri-Lloyd gear.

A brand built to last

Henri-Lloyd’s reputation is not just about cutting-edge technology—it’s about real-world endurance. Few stories illustrate this better than that of Warren, CEO of The Chandlery, whose own Henri-Lloyd gear has withstood the harshest conditions for over 15 years.

His jacket and hi-fit trousers have been through everything from relentless Trans-Tasman storms to complete submersion—yet they remain as reliable as ever. One particularly memorable test came while crossing the notorious Wanganella Banks, where his boat was hit by 50-knot winds and towering swells. A wave broke over the stern, flooding the cockpit and leaving Warren momentarily submerged. Yet, when he surfaced, he was still dry, thanks to his Henri-Lloyd gear.

That experience cemented his belief in the brand’s quality and ultimately led to The Chandlery’s mission to bring Henri-Lloyd back to New Zealand.

What to expect at the Auckland Boat Show

Visitors to Booth 139B can look forward to an impressive range of Henri-Lloyd gear, including:

  • Proven favourites from the 2024 collection
  • A brand-new range designed for serious racers
  • The latest lifestyle pieces, bringing Henri-Lloyd’s signature style beyond the water
  • Exclusive show specials and early access to new arrivals

In addition to browsing the collection, attendees will have the opportunity to meet representatives from Henri-Lloyd Australia, who will be on hand to share insights about the latest advancements in marine apparel. Plus, visitors who complete a quick feedback form will go in the draw to win Henri-Lloyd gear.

As one of the standout exhibitors at this year’s Auckland Boat Show, The Chandlery’s showcase promises to highlight why Henri-Lloyd remains a favourite among sailors, racers, and adventurers alike.

The Auckland Boat Show runs from March 6-9 at Jellicoe Harbour, and The Chandlery’s Henri-Lloyd collection will be on display at Booth 139B.
