An abundance of caution has this evening seen the Bluebridge ferry Connemara’s master request tugboat support to dock, this was due to high winds and sea conditions.

The Bluebridge ferry Connemara is being assisted into dock by a tug boat in Wellington this evening.

A Bluebridge spokesperson said there were no faults with the vessel and it was the masters decision to request support in high or gusty winds.

They said conditions in the Cook Strait could cause some delays to sailings but affected passengers would be contacted directly.

Meanwhile, an Interislander spokesperson said swells in the Cook Strait had slowed one sailing but the evening’s sailings were going ahead as planned at this stage.
