The Garmin ECHOMAP™ Ultra 2 105sv is a 10-inch multifunction chartplotter designed for skippers who want clear, detailed navigation and sonar information on a single, easy-to-read screen. Its size makes it well-suited for larger boats where the helm layout can accommodate a bigger display and where information needs to be visible from multiple angles. The WXGA IPS touchscreen offers a bright, sunlight-readable image with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, supported by keyed assist for operation in rough conditions.

This model is supplied with Garmin Navionics+™ mapping for Australia and New Zealand, providing inland and coastal coverage with depth shading and a year of daily updates. The unit can also be upgraded with Garmin Navionics Vision+™ for high-resolution relief shading and satellite imagery.

For sonar, the Ultra 2 105sv comes bundled with the GT56UHD-TM transducer. This supports Garmin CHIRP traditional sonar, Ultra High-Definition ClearVü™ and SideVü™ scanning sonars at multiple frequencies (260/455/800/1000/1200 kHz). The result is near photo-like images of fish, structure, and bottom contour. Colour palettes can be customised for better target separation, and the unit supports the full range of LiveScope™ live-scanning sonar systems for real-time underwater views.

Networking is a strong point. Through NMEA 2000® and the Garmin Marine Network, the chartplotter can connect to heading sensors, autopilots, AIS, and compatible Fusion-Link™ audio systems. Wireless networking allows waypoint, route, and sonar data sharing with other ECHOMAP Ultra 2 or UHD2 units on board. Screen recordings can be captured for later review or sharing via the ActiveCaptain® app, which also enables software updates and access to the Garmin Quickdraw™ Community.

Positioning accuracy is enhanced with a built-in multi-band GPS receiver supporting GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and BeiDou. The unit logs up to 5,000 waypoints, 50 saved tracks, and 100 navigation routes, accommodating extended cruising or fishing trips.

Physically, the Ultra 2 105sv measures 29.5 x 19.5 x 9.8 cm and weighs 1.8 kg. It is IPX7-rated for water resistance and can be bail- or flush-mounted. A quick-disconnect mount makes removal straightforward for security or storage.

In practice, the combination of a large, bright screen, comprehensive mapping, UHD sonar capability, and robust networking makes the ECHOMAP Ultra 2 105sv a versatile choice for larger boats where helm space and power supply can support a full-featured, permanently installed navigation and fishfinding solution.
