There’s something special about August in the Whitsundays. The trade winds fill in, the turquoise water sparkles, and Hamilton Island comes alive with colour, music, and the hum of racing yachts. This year, from 16–23 August, Hamilton Island Race Week marks its 40th edition — four decades of world-class sailing mixed with the laid-back joy of an island escape.

Amid the celebrations, Dufour Yachts with The Yacht Sales Co. will be right in the heart of the action. Their recent showpiece, the Dufour 44, will be alongside, ready for you to step aboard. It’s a yacht that blends sharp, modern lines with the kind of practical touches that make life on the water easier — whether you’re cruising with family or taking on the regatta course.

But this isn’t just a “look, don’t touch” moment. The Dufour 44 will be joining the racing fleet, and a handful of lucky guests will have the chance to crew aboard (subject to availability). It’s a rare opportunity to feel the energy of Race Week from the deck of a performance cruiser, surrounded by one of the most spectacular sailing backdrops in the world.

If you’d like to explore the Dufour 44, or register for a spot in the crew on one or more race days, The Yacht Sales Co. team would love to hear from you.
