Rayglass 2700 with Mercury V10 set for Perth debut

Rayglass Boats are heading across the Tasman, and Perth boaties are in for a treat. The Rayglass Legend 2700, paired with Mercury Marine’s powerful 425hp V10, will make its first Australian appearance at the Perth Boat Show, 19–21 September, on the Aquasports Marine stand.

Rayglass, based in Auckland, has long been a leader in trailerable offshore boats. The new Legend 2700 is a natural successor to the legendary 2500 model, of which nearly 600 were built. Drawing on two decades of owner feedback, the 2700 offers more volume, sharper styling, and greater versatility while keeping the trademark Rayglass ride.

At 8.8 metres overall with a 2.5-metre beam, the 2700 sits comfortably under the 3,500kg towing limit on an aluminium tandem trailer. It is available in outboard or sterndrive configurations, petrol or diesel, but the real headline act is the Mercury Verado V10. The big 400–425hp outboard brings lively handling, rapid acceleration, and a top speed over 40 knots. Cruising at 25 knots, the V10 delivers strong performance and a range of more than 300 nautical miles from the 320-litre fuel tank.

The 2700 also excels in comfort and utility. Features include a spacious galley, roomier toilet compartment, premium upholstery, and suspension seating. The transom is modular, with options for bait stations, chilly bins, or seating. Rod storage, live wells, and a dedicated diving and swimming platform keep both anglers and families happy.

Rayglass founder Tony Hembrow says the 2700 “allows you to get out of your own way and enjoy being on the water.” With strong interest already in New Zealand and growing demand in Australia, the Legend 2700 looks set to be a winner.

Perth boaties can see the Rayglass 2700 and Mercury V10 for themselves at the Aquasports Marine Stand at the Perth Boat Show, 19–21 September.
