Boating New Zealand is proud to return as the official media sponsor of the 2026 Auckland Boat Show, celebrating 25 years of showcasing Kiwi boating innovation, design, and craftsmanship.

Set right on the harbour in the heart of Auckland, the show has grown from humble beginnings into New Zealand’s premier on-water event, a true reflection of our nation’s love of boats and the sea. From the first show in 1999, Boating New Zealand has been part of the story. Our own Tim Porter was one of three founders who helped launch the event and still serves on the organising committee today. His continued involvement speaks volumes about the dedication and passion that have kept the show thriving for a quarter of a century.

Tickets went on sale last Friday, and early interest points to another standout year for exhibitors and visitors alike.

From trailer boats and luxury launches to marine tech, gear, and safety innovations, the Auckland Boat Show remains the place where the industry and public come together to celebrate all things boating. Over the coming weeks, Boating New Zealand will look back across the show’s 25-year history; the milestones, memorable launches, and personalities that shaped it into the country’s most recognised marine showcase. And while this anniversary invites reflection, it also points ahead.

Plans are already underway for the 2026 show, promising something truly special, a celebration of Kiwi boating culture like never before. As the countdown begins, we invite our readers and the wider boating community to join us on this journey looking back at where it all began, and forward to an even brighter horizon on the Waitematā.
