Black Foils driver Peter Burling sidelined after training injury

Black Foils skipper Peter Burling has been ruled out of Thursday’s practice session in Abu Dhabi after injuring his right index finger. The incident occurred on Wednesday when Burling inspected a misfiring daggerboard on the team’s F50.

He was taken to a local medical centre, assessed and treated, and is now recovering. The team has confirmed the injury is not serious, but Burling will stand down from Thursday’s sailing as a precaution.

Liv Mackay

Black Foils strategist Liv Mackay will take over driving duties for the day’s session. Burling is scheduled for a further medical assessment on Friday ahead of practice racing.
