A first look at the new Horizon V74 EVO at Boot Düsseldorf

Horizon Yachts has used Boot Düsseldorf to quietly introduce the third generation of its long running V74, marking a significant milestone for one of the brand’s most enduring platforms.

The all new V74 EVO represents the Mk3 evolution of the V74 line, which now spans nearly 20 years of continuous development. The original V74 Skylounge launched in 2007 and remained in production through to 2013, establishing the enclosed flybridge format that would become a Horizon hallmark. A refined second generation followed from 2023 to 2025. From 2026, the V74 EVO advances the concept again with reworked proportions, sharper contemporary lines, and a more confident, modern profile.

Developed from the proven V68 hull, the V74 EVO measures 22.65 metres overall, remaining comfortably under the 24 metre threshold while delivering a noticeable increase in volume and usability. The semi displacement GRP platform is paired with Horizon’s emphasis on practical systems and straightforward operation, making the boat approachable without sacrificing capability.

Accommodation is arranged across three ensuite guest cabins for up to six people, with separate crew quarters for two. Interiors are fully bespoke, allowing owners to personalise materials, finishes, and detailing. Horizon has also confirmed upgraded onboard amenities and the introduction of a new sustainable decking solution, reflecting changing expectations around materials and long term durability. Power comes from twin MAN V8 1200 engines, offering refined performance and assured handling.

Construction is now underway at the Horizon Yachts shipyard, with delivery scheduled for the second quarter of 2026. Visitors to Boot Düsseldorf were also briefed on V74 EVO Hull 15, a further refined build aligned with market feedback and due to debut later this year at the Mediterranean In Water Yacht Show.

With three clearly defined generations now complete, the V74 EVO underscores Horizon’s commitment to evolving a proven design rather than reinventing it, a strategy that has clearly stood the test of time.
