VISIONF Yachts delivers second solar electric E Cat 80 catamaran

Pioneering Turkish builder VISIONF Yachts has delivered its second 24 metre all electric catamaran, the VISIONF E Cat 80 Gloriamaris. Built in lightweight carbon fibre at the company’s state of the art Tuzla shipyard, the yacht marks another step forward in VISIONF’s commitment to clean, efficient and future focused yachting.

With exterior styling by Marco Casali of TOO Design, the E Cat 80 combines sleek contemporary lines with advanced electric propulsion. Designed as an adventure and family yacht, Gloriamaris was specified from the outset for long range, low impact cruising, with owner driven upgrades that significantly extend energy autonomy and onboard capability.

As a semi custom platform, the E Cat 80 allows extensive personalisation. On this second unit, the owner opted for a dedicated music room on the flybridge, complete with piano and harp, creating a quiet creative space above the water. Additional solar panels were also specified, further reducing generator use and increasing time spent cruising or at anchor on electric power alone.

A keen diver, the owner also commissioned a custom dive system. A dedicated dive cabinet securely houses tanks and connects directly to a high capacity air and nitrox compressor, enabling fast refills without reliance on shore facilities. The system is designed for remote destinations and underpins plans for extended exploration.

“I expect to use this boat as an adventure boat,” said owner Gregg Hamann, who previously cruised on a 50 foot sailing catamaran. “Summers in the Med, winters in the Red Sea. Beyond that, I want to take it further afield into the Indian Ocean. One reason I went bigger was to reach very remote places, and this platform makes that possible.”

Family use was equally central to the brief. The yacht includes a dedicated kids’ room, a flybridge jacuzzi, and safe activity areas designed to introduce younger guests to life on the water, including learning to dive.

Measuring 23.97 metres with a 10.92 metre beam, the E Cat 80 accommodates up to 10 guests in comfort. The interior features warm minimalism, neutral tones, premium vinyl woods and marble detailing. Layouts can be configured with four to six staterooms to suit private or charter use.

Powered by twin Danfoss 180 kW electric motors and supported by 63 solar panels generating up to 25.2 kW per hour, Gloriamaris cruises quietly at 6 to 8 knots with minimal generator input. Under favourable conditions, solar regeneration allows effectively unlimited low speed endurance. For extended passages, twin 150 kW generators and a five tonne fuel reserve provide up to 3,500 nautical miles of range.

The owner is set to sail for the Red Sea this winter, putting VISIONF’s second E Cat 80 to work exactly as intended, quietly, efficiently, and far from the beaten track.
