One of the world’s great regattas is already building momentum. Registration is now open for the 62nd Rolex Big Boat Series, set to light up San Francisco Bay from 16 to 20 September 2026, with racing right under the Golden Gate Bridge.
This year ups the stakes again. Alongside four days of hard racing, the event will also crown the 2026 ORC North American Champions, guaranteeing deep fleets, sharp crews and no room for mistakes.
Expect classic San Francisco conditions, breeze, chop and pressure from the first gun. One design racing returns for J 88, J 105 and Express 37 fleets, while ORC monohulls over 30 feet will battle it out across six races, including a longer coastal challenge through the Bay and out toward the Farallones, weather permitting. The Classics fleet brings its own theatre, with traditional wooden yachts over 40 feet lining up for four races.
Organisers have listened to competitors. One design fleets now race ten times across the series, up from seven, demanding consistency, fitness and smart sailing across the full week.
Beyond the racing, there is plenty to play for. Rolex Submariners, perpetual trophies and ORC North American titles headline the prize list, with the popular Storm Trysail Team Trophy also back for three boat teams.
