Fountaine Pajot secures triple nomination at 2026 Boat of the Year Awards

Fountaine Pajot has achieved a significant milestone, with three of its latest sailing catamarans shortlisted for the 2026 Boat of the Year Awards. The FP41, FP44 and FP55 have all been nominated by Cruising World, placing the French builder firmly in the spotlight on the international stage.

The annual awards are widely regarded as a benchmark in the North American market, recognising yachts that push the boundaries of modern cruising. Winners are selected through a rigorous process that combines detailed dockside inspections with real-world sea trials on Chesapeake Bay. Judges assess build quality, onboard systems, handling, and overall sailing performance.

This year’s triple nomination reflects Fountaine Pajot’s continued focus on blending sailing capability with onboard comfort across its core sailing catamaran range.

The FP41 represents the entry point into this new generation. At 41 feet, it delivers a notable balance between livability and ease of handling. The design prioritises open-plan living, with seamless flow between cockpit and saloon, while maintaining a manageable sail plan suited to short-handed crews.

Stepping up in size, the FP44 targets owners seeking a more capable long-range cruiser. The model emphasises connection between onboard spaces, with a cockpit that extends naturally into the saloon and forward areas. Hull design and sail configuration have been refined to deliver a steady, controlled sailing experience without compromising comfort.

At the top of the range, the FP55 stands as the flagship. Designed for extended bluewater cruising, it introduces a flybridge that functions as a central living and helm space. The layout maximises visibility and usability, while interior volumes and finish reflect a clear shift toward long-distance capability and onboard autonomy.

Across all three models, flexibility remains a key theme. Each catamaran offers multiple layout options, catering to private owners and charter operators alike.

The recognition across three distinct size categories highlights the breadth of Fountaine Pajot’s offering and reinforces its position within the global cruising catamaran market.

Final award results are expected later this year following completion of sea trials.
