Fanzone Lazzaretto – All You Need To Know

The Official Race Village along the Via Roma in Cagliari will be, to many the epicentre of the regatta where the Main Stage and the Pre-Race and Dock-in shows occur, but for those wishing to see the action live, the FanZone Lazzaretto to the east offers the best vantage point to truly appreciate the speed of the AC40’s in action.

To reach the FanZone Lazzaretto, the America’s Cup Events team suggests catching the dedicated bus as the walk, especially in the forecast temperatures for the weekend, could take up to an hour. The dedicated America’s Cup buses shuttle to the Lazaretto and back at convenient times throughout the day

The bus is a safe and easy alternative and the ‘Bus Stop America’s Cup’ is situated just outside the perimeter of the Race Village opposite the main stage, back on the Via Roma. The ‘Navetta America’s Cup’ bus, run by the local CTM bus company, leaves every 30 minutes and it is just five stops to SV0344 Schiavazzi (Lazzaretto). You may wish to get off one stop earlier at the VS2176 Utzeri stop, to walk along the FanZone Lazzaretto and take in the best spot for your viewing.

A quick stroll to where you will see the floating platform is where the FIV Foil Academy activation can be found. It is designed as an integrated fan engagement and sporting programme within the America’s Cup Fan Village at Lazzaretto with an objective to create a dynamic foiling area combining public engagement, educational interaction and live on-water demonstrations, fully aligned with the operational flow of the America’s Cup event.
