[Alinghy] Team and race updates – Day 3 – Louis Vuitton 38th Preliminary Regatta, Sardinia

LIVE: Day 3 Race Updates

Tudor Team Alinghi gets back on the racecourse in the Gulf of Angels for the final day of racing at the Louis Vuitton 38th America’s Cup Preliminary Regatta Sardinia, determined to finish strongly after a demanding Saturday. With moderate sea-breeze conditions forecast once again, the focus shifts to clean execution, sharp boat handling and building momentum across the final two fleet races.

FLEET RACE 7

Tudor Team Alinghi opened its final day in Sardinia with a difficult Race 7 in lighter, tactical conditions on the Gulf of Angels. Paul Goodison and Phil Robertson stayed in touch with the fleet throughout, working hard to find pressure and keep the AC40 moving through a tightly packed race. Despite remaining in contention for much of the race, the Swiss crew lacked the pace to move forward and crossed the line in seventh place, with GB1 claiming victory ahead of Luna Rossa and the French team.

Natalie Brunner: “We saw some good improvement with the boat compared to yesterday, and the boys were happy with how it was going. There were a few small tactical mistakes, but they’re still in the early stages of learning how to work together, which is exactly why we came here. We’re taking the positives from the race, regrouping, and putting together a solid plan for the next one.”
