Scanstrut DS-HSL-01 Horizontal Cable Seal

Fitting a Starlink dish to a boat is the easy part. Routing the cable through the cabin roof without making a mess of it is where most installations go wrong. Sealant that shrinks and cracks, glands that don’t accommodate the connector, or cutting the plug off and hoping the re-termination holds, none of it is a good look on a vessel you’ve spent money on.

Scanstrut’s DS-HSL-01 takes a more considered approach. The housing accepts five interchangeable split bungs covering cable diameters from 2mm to 8mm, plus a blank self-drill bung for cables that fall outside those ranges. Because each bung is split, the cable and its attached connector pass straight through, whole. The housing then clamps down around it, captive nuts pulling everything tight against the mounting surface without a drop of sealant involved.

The profile sits just 29mm proud of the roof, with the cable exiting horizontally along the surface rather than upward, which keeps the installation tidy and reduces the leverage any passing line or foot traffic can apply to the entry point. Maximum connector clearance is 16mm, which comfortably handles the larger Starlink Gen 3 plugs.

Out of the box it’s compatible with Starlink Performance, Enterprise, Standard and Mini (all Gen 3), NMEA and RJ45 cables. It works just as well for solar panel wiring, light bar feeds and other rooftop runs where a professional finish matters.
