Final Final Sets the Pace at Aegean 600 Warm-Up Race

Written by

Fourteen teams took to the water for the Attica Warm-Up Race ahead of the Aegean 600, using the 7.7-mile course to test their boats and systems before Sunday’s main event start.

Russell Whitworth’s Pac 52 Final Final (USA) topped the results, with George Procopiau’s Volvo 70 Aiolos (GRE) finishing second and Peter Steinkogler’s Italia 11.98 Susano’o (GRE) taking third.

“We are all very excited to be back for this year’s race,” said Frederic Puzin, skipper of the Carkeek 54 Daguet 5 (FRA). “Such wonderful weather and such great competitors.”

Viktor Sakharov, skipper of the Salona 38 Valentina (TUR), is competing at the Aegean 600 for the first time with this boat, having raced the event two years ago. “This was a good time for us to improve some things, check everything in our systems to be safe in this race,” he said. “It’s good, we’re happy to be here.”
