Avikus, a leader in AI-powered marine navigation and docking solutions, is partnering with Vision Marine Technologies to test the integration of its NEUBOAT smart navigation platform with Vision Marine’s twin-motor E-Motion™ electric propulsion system.
Using the STERK 31E electric boat as the test platform, the companies will evaluate how NEUBOAT’s perception, navigation and vessel-control capabilities work with Vision Marine’s propulsion, steering and helm-control systems. Key features under evaluation include object recognition, route planning, smart autopilot, adaptive cruise, collision-avoidance assistance and smart docking.
The project will help Avikus expand its integration expertise into electric propulsion systems while refining the processes needed to connect NEUBOAT with a wider range of vessel-control architectures. If successful, the collaboration could support broader adoption of the technology across both electric and conventional boats.
Vision Marine views the partnership as a step toward creating a more connected marine technology ecosystem, combining propulsion, controls, safety systems and intelligent navigation.
NEUBOAT uses camera and LiDAR-based sensor fusion to detect surrounding objects, provide real-time situational awareness and assist with navigation and docking.
At IBEX 2026, attendees are expected to experience NEUBOAT aboard both a retrofitted vessel and Vision Marine’s STERK 31E, demonstrating the platform’s potential for both aftermarket and OEM applications.
