Offshore Collective launches shared ownership of brand new Rayglass boats on the Hauraki Gulf

Written by

Former Rayglass Sales Manager Matt Flanagan launches a new way to own a brand new Rayglass, for when the capital outlay or time commitment of owning one outright doesn’t quite fit.

Auckland, November 2026: Offshore Collective has launched in Auckland, offering a new way to own a brand new Rayglass 3000: shared ownership, fully managed from delivery to exit, so shareholders can focus purely on the boating.

Every boat is built to the highest standard with the latest marine technology, and held by six shareholders, each owning one of six equal shares, for a defined three-year term. The boats are kept at Tamaki Marine Park, with storage, servicing, cleaning and insurance all taken care of. Shareholders book through a custom-built Offshore Collective app, walk on, enjoy their day on the water, and walk off, leaving the rest to the team. At the end of the term, they can step into a new boat or exit through a clear, structured process.

Offshore Collective is built for the stages of life when the capital and time of owning a boat outright don’t quite fit. It suits families making the most of the years with young kids, owners ready to step up from a smaller boat, launch owners who want to shoot out for a quick fish without the prep and pack-down of taking the launch out, and those who could buy outright but would rather keep their capital and time free for other things.

Endorsed by Rayglass

Offshore Collective is an approved Rayglass ownership partner, fully endorsed by Rayglass Boats, one of New Zealand’s leading and most respected boat builders, known for their premium build quality and rough-water performance. Every boat is built by Rayglass, serviced by the Rayglass team throughout its term, and refurbished by Rayglass at the end of it, so shareholders have both the Offshore Collective team and the factory behind their boat for the full three-year term.

“Matt knows Rayglass and our customers as well as anyone. Offshore Collective opens the door to brand new Rayglass ownership for a new group of people, giving them the chance to experience the very best of Rayglass and the lifestyle that comes with it, at a stage of life when full ownership may not fit. We’re proud to support it.” Dean Harris, President, Rayglass Boats

Built from lived experience

Offshore Collective came from nearly a decade on the sales floor at Rayglass, where founder Matt Flanagan saw first-hand what owners value most about their boats, and what they would prefer to leave to someone else.

“After nearly a decade selling Rayglass boats, I’ve delivered hundreds across New Zealand, and many more offshore,” says Flanagan. “I know these boats inside out: how they’re built, how owners use them, and the ups and downs of ownership. Offshore Collective is everything I’ve learned, brought together in one experience: a brand new Rayglass, designed for the stages of life when full ownership doesn’t quite fit, with less capital tied up and the admin handled for you.”

“Some of my best memories were made on the water,” he says. “Offshore Collective started as a way for my own family to enjoy a brand new Rayglass while my kids are growing up. I built it so more people can do the same.”

Built around the Rayglass 3000

Offshore Collective focuses on boats in the 8–10 metre range, one of the most active boating categories in Auckland. The Rayglass 3000 leads the fleet. It’s purpose-built for the Hauraki Gulf and equally at home fishing, diving, cruising, spending a day at anchor, or staying the night aboard. Every boat is delivered with Mercury V10 power and Simrad navigation.

“The 3000 is a boat you can use twelve months of the year in Gulf conditions,” says Flanagan. “That’s exactly the kind of boat Offshore Collective is built around.”

Availability

The first Offshore Collective boats are scheduled for delivery in early 2027. Conversations with prospective shareholders are open now at offshorecollective.co.nz.
