The 1988 Mariner 3800 Flybridge is a well-respected New Zealand launch, renowned for her solid construction, practical layout, and dependable cruising performance. Designed and built by Mariner Cruisers,
this 38-foot flybridge launch delivers generous accommodation, excellent economy, and confidence-inspiring handling — an ideal platform for family cruising, extended weekends, or coastal adventures.
Powered by twin 165hp Volvo Penta diesel engines, recently serviced and running through heat exchangers, she cruises comfortably at 10–12 knots with a top speed of 15 knots. With 1100 litres of diesel across four stainless steel tanks, she offers impressive range and flexibility for longer passages. The fiberglass hull, 3.2m beam, and shallow 1.1m draft provide excellent stability and access to shallower bays, while bronze three-blade propellers ensure reliable thrust and efficiency.
Inside, the Mariner 3800 offers accommodation for up to six with a practical and inviting layout. The galley is well equipped with a gas hob and oven, 12v fridge/freezer, and ample storage. Fresh water capacity of 400 litres, a pressure water system, and hot water heated via the port engine ensure onboard comfort whether at anchor or underway.
The vessel features one head, two showers (including an aft deck shower — perfect after a swim), and a warm, functional interior ideal for extended stays. A major highlight is the complete 12v rewire, providing peace of mind and modern reliability. The electrical system includes two house batteries and two starting batteries, while navigation is handled by all-Garmin electronics, including depth sounder, radar, and autopilot.
Sea Zone controls integrate and simplify onboard systems, and a GME VHF ensures dependable communication.
