The 1974 Alan Mummery Ibis is a 9.8m (32.15ft) timber yacht built on Waiheke Island by renowned New Zealand designer Alan Mummery. Listed for $35,000, this used vessel is currently berthed at Chaffers Marina in Wellington and available through Vining Marine Limited. Designed and built for Mummery himself, Ibis is a classic sailing yacht with a strong pedigree and a proven track record.

A nimble and responsive racer, Ibis is equally well suited to day sailing or extended cruising. Her sailing history includes regular voyages across the Hauraki Gulf and Cook Strait, as well as extended trips to the South Island’s Tasman Bay, Marlborough Sounds, and D’Urville Island. With only 987 engine hours and a legacy of capable handling, Ibis offers reliability and charm for a leisure sailor or vintage yacht enthusiast. Owned by a single family for 30 years prior to her current owner, she has been maintained for both performance and comfort.

This is a rare opportunity to own a piece of New Zealand’s boatbuilding heritage, offering seaworthy performance and timeless style. Enquiries are open for viewings.
