ON THE WATER WITH WHEEEBO

Yanmar Japan has developed a new marine activity called the Wheeebo, based around the concept that anyone can enjoy exciting new experiences on the water.

Powered by a Nickel-hydride battery, the Wheeebo’s electric motor propels the circular, 140-150cm in diameter board to a around three knots. Acceleration is controlled by a handheld remote control. Users of the circular board lean in the desired direction of travel and onboard sensors detect the change in weight distribution and engage the board’s motor to propel the board across the water.

While operation is a simple and intuitive, a moderate amount of skill is required for mastery. Suitable for calm water use, the Wheeebo’s operational life is approximately one hour between charges.
