Sealegs International has released plans for the world’s most compact amphibious production boat.

At just 3.8m overall length, the new tender will be powered on land with a Sealegs electric amphibious drive system and is designed to bring amphibious boating to the yacht tender market.  Weighing less than 450kg and a height of just 1m, the craft is stowable in yacht transom garages, lazarettes or on deck.

The fibreglass moulding and console is paired with Hypalon inflatable tubes and the boat has a base price of USD 75,000.  Seating capacity is for up to 5 people and a 40hp outboard can be fitted along with chart-plotter, VHF, and a stereo system.

Sealegs CEO, David Mckee Wright, said, “The release of the 3.8m Tender acknowledges the overwhelming enthusiasm for a Sealegs amphibious solution to solve the ship-to-shore challenges of many boaties. The team at Sealegs are excited to meet that need which has been passionately expressed to us by many aspirational amphibians.”

Sealegs is receiving fully refundable deposits for the 3.8m tender now, and will announce production plans for 100 boats once 15 deposits have been received.

Sealegs expects to begin production of the new boat in 2022 and anticipates strong demand for the craft which ushers in a new sector of amphibious boating. Orders will be fulfilled in the sequence with which they are received.
