For the first time ever, MAN Engines will be supplying engines to the French yacht and motorboat manufacturer BENETEAU.

By entering into this contract, the engine manufacturer from Germany and the yacht and motorboat manufacturer from France, which is also one of the largest pleasure boat manufacturers in the world, set the seal on their new partnership. “As companies with a long tradition and first-class products, BENETEAU and MAN Engines have a lot in common. We are pleased that we have made this decision to take strides together in the marine market, a market that is very important to us,” says Claus Benzler, Head of Marine at MAN Engines.

The first fruits of this successful collaboration was the launch of BENETEAU’s Grand Trawler 62 at the 2021 Cannes Yachting Festival. The BENETEAU Swift Trawler range is the world leader on the trawler market. Under the terms of the supply agreement, MAN Engines will fit the twin-engine units of the new model with 730hp (537 kW) MAN i6-730 six-cylinder in-line engines. The engine is based on the technically mature MAN D2676 power unit, which has been used in agricultural engineering, power generators, and buses and trucks for many years now. The yacht engine, which was first unveiled in Cannes in 2016, benefits from the series production experience gained from these applications in terms of durability, vibration control and fuel efficiency.
