LSB launches Te Whara V

Te Whara V is a custom-built, 16-metre vessel designed with precision to meet the unique specifications of its experienced owners.

Built by Lloyd Stevenson Yachts (LSB) and designed by Elite, this is the third Elite design for the same yachtsman, who wanted a vessel suitable for extended cruising in New Zealand’s remote areas. It’s powered by two de-rated 13-litre Scania engines, showcasing the engineering prowess of all the companies involved.

The interior exudes contemporary elegance, with teak joinery and warm-toned fabrics creating a relaxing and inviting atmosphere. Equipped with top-of-the-line systems selected by the owners, Te Whara V is both functional and luxurious, reflecting the owners’ deep knowledge and research in yacht outfitting. Its purpose is clear: a comfortable and capable cruiser for long voyages, perfectly suited for exploring the rugged and remote waters of New Zealand.

Te Whara V can capably handle rough seas. Its design prioritises stability and sea-worthiness, making it an excellent choice for navigating challenging conditions. The mid pilothouse style, combined with a low centre of gravity, enhances the vessel’s ability to maintain stability in rough water, reducing rolling and improving overall performance. Additionally, the choice of powerful, under stressed (de-rated) 13-litre Scania engines ensures reliable propulsion with optimal fuel efficiency and durability  – crucial for long-distance cruising in remote areas where sea conditions can be unpredictable.
