Sail Barbary Business Sale / Berths 9 & 10, Taupo Boat Harbour

If you know Lake Taupo, then you know of Barbary. Sail Barbary has been operating since 1982, offering a one-of-a-kind sailing adventure on New Zealand's only commercially operated electric yacht. While the classic 12m Kauri ketch, Barbary II, may be a showstopper, the business also runs Kakariki, an 11.98m motor boat for peak season overflow and bespoke charters.

The vessels operate from two highly sought-after side-by-side berths at Taupo Boat Harbour in a prime marina location.

Barbary sails up to four times daily to the world-renowned Maori Rock Carvings and can take up to 25 passengers. During the sail, passengers are given an informative speech on the lake’s history.

Kakariki can take up to 24 passengers and can cruise in any weather.

Lyons Asset Management: Taupo Cruise Business

Both boats offer snacks and refreshments for purchase onboard. Both are licensed to sell alcohol, or guests can bring their own.
