Valder Sprint 20S Launch: Another Knock Out High-Performance Luxury Yacht from New Zealand

New Zealand continues to make waves in the world of luxury yachting with today's (11 Oct 24) launch of the newest Valder motor yacht, a Valder Sprint 20S. This high-performance power catamaran, created by Valder Yachts in collaboration with Roger Hill Yacht Design and Scott Lane Builders, combines cutting-edge speed, power, and bespoke craftsmanship. It has already captured the attention of the yachting community for its seamless blend of performance and luxury, promising to set a new standard in its class.

A legacy of speed and performance

At the helm of this venture is Wayne Valder, the founder and CEO of Valder Yachts. With over 35 years of international offshore racing experience, Wayne has earned the distinction of being the only person in history to win offshore championships in the U.S.A., New Zealand, and Australia. This rich racing pedigree is evident in the design and performance of the Valder Sprint 20S, reflecting Valder’s passion for speed and efficiency on the open water. His commitment to excellence and attention to detail are apparent in every aspect of the Valder Sprint.

Valder’s collaboration with Roger Hill Yacht Design adds even more credibility to the design of the Valder Sprint. Roger Hill, one of New Zealand’s most respected yacht designers, is known for his expertise in power catamarans. His designs, ranging from luxury cruising to high-performance vessels, have earned international acclaim. The combination of Valder’s drive for high-performance and Hill’s design expertise has resulted in a yacht that offers both speed and luxury.

Craftsmanship and innovation: the Valder Sprint 20S

The Valder Sprint 20S is an impressive feat of engineering and design. Measuring 26 metres in length with a 6.7-metre beam and 0.83-metre draft, this 35-ton catamaran is built for serious performance. As described by Valder Yachts, it’s “where performance meets prestige on the open sea.”

Powering this vessel is a pair of MAN V8-1300 engines, selected for their reliability and horsepower. These engines deliver their impressive thrust via a ZF665 gearbox to custom-designed 36-inch, 5-bladed, surface-piercing propellers. These propellers are not just any off-the-shelf components. They are designed specifically for high-speed operation, working seamlessly with the yacht’s foiling technology. This combination ensures efficient, streamlined propulsion, allowing the Valder Sprint to perform at the highest levels while minimising fuel consumption.

The yacht’s fuel capacity of 9,460 litres and water storage of 2,100 litres ensure that long-distance voyages are possible without frequent stops. Whether cruising between New Zealand’s scenic coastal spots or embarking on longer journeys across the Pacific, the Valder Sprint is equipped to handle it all.

Uncompromised luxury

While performance is a critical aspect of the Valder Sprint 20S, luxury has not been overlooked. Inside, the yacht boasts four spacious cabins that can comfortably sleep eight people, offering the perfect balance between comfort and style. Each cabin is meticulously designed with high-end finishes, giving a bespoke feel to the space.

For the more adventurous yacht owners, the inclusion of a bespoke helipad adds to the yacht’s appeal. Whether it’s for quick transfers to the shore or adding an extra touch of exclusivity, this helipad elevates the Valder Sprint to another level of luxury.

Customisation is a key part of the Valder experience. The Valder Sprint is available in a range of colour schemes, from dark blue and orange to more unexpected choices like lavender. This focus on individuality allows owners to personalise their yachts to suit their tastes, ensuring that each Valder Sprint stands out in its own unique way.

Scott Lane Builders: a legacy of excellence

Backing the craftsmanship of the Valder Sprint is Scott Lane Builders, one of New Zealand’s most respected boat builders. Founded by Scott Lane in 1999 after his apprenticeship with the renowned Lloyd Stevenson Boatbuilders, Scott Lane Builders has a long history of producing top-quality custom boats. Lane’s experience, combined with the expertise of his team, has ensured that the Valder Sprint has been crafted to the highest standards of workmanship.

The construction process is proof of Scott Lane Builders’ attention to detail and commitment to producing boats that meet and exceed expectations. Every element, from the sleek exterior to the carefully crafted interior spaces, speaks to their focus on quality and precision.

The launch: a night to remember

The Valder Sprint made its debut in the still of the night, quietly arriving at its launch location under the cover of darkness. This covert approach only added to the intrigue surrounding the launch, with anticipation building as yachting enthusiasts awaited the unveiling of this high-performance marvel.

As the newest addition to the Valder Yachts fleet, the Sprint 20S is poised to capture the attention of those who seek both luxury and speed. With future models on the horizon, this launch signals a bright future for Valder Yachts and the continuing legacy of high-performance power catamarans in New Zealand.

An unparalleled experience

The Valder Sprint 20S is a triumph of both engineering and design, a perfect blend of speed, luxury, and craftsmanship. For those who value performance on the water without compromising on comfort or style, the Valder Sprint offers an unparalleled experience. With a team like Wayne Valder, Roger Hill, and Scott Lane Builders behind its creation, this yacht is set to become a game-changer in the world of high-performance motor yachts.
