If there is ever going to be a chance of an Italian coming back, today is it! Italy have performed significantly well under the low wind conditions, today those conditions present big-time.
The temperature will be in the low 20s and the sun will be out, with no cloud in the sky.
Significantly today the wind will be a lot lower, maybe not enough to start racing… But if winds are enough to start the race, they will be very shallow.
That means we may see conditions under which the Italians can perform significantly better than they have in the past few days, they have done well in lighter weather, their boat performs best in these conditions.
Remember – the first time Italy loose – they are instantly out of the competition. They must win both races today to force a winner-takes-all match tomorrow.
