The Black Foils, New Zealand’s SailGP team led by Peter Burling and Blair Tuke, are offering exciting internship opportunities for Kiwi (and beyond New Zealand) candidates at upcoming events in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Rio de Janeiro, New York, and Portsmouth. Representing Aotearoa on the global stage, the Black Foils race 50-foot foiling catamarans at speeds exceeding 100 km/h (60 mp/h) in the high-adrenaline Rolex SailGP Championship.

This is a rare chance for young New Zealanders to gain hands-on experience in professional sailing. Interns will work as part of the shore crew, assisting with the assembly, maintenance, and pack-down of the F50 catamaran and team base. Tasks include rigging, equipment preparation, chase boat support, and overall base operations. Interns will also help document their experience, offering an inside look at life behind the scenes of an elite sailing team.

Applications are open to candidates aged 18-24 who are proactive, keen to learn, and passionate about the sailing industry. While based locally at event locations, successful candidates will represent New Zealand on the world stage. For more information or to request an application form, contact Anna Tuke, Black Foils Team Operations Manager, at atuke@sailgpnzl.com.
