Honda Marine Unveils Refreshed Large-Size Outboard Models at Miami International Boat Show

Honda Marine has unveiled updated versions of seven large-size outboard motors—the BF250, BF225, BF200, BF150, BF140, BF135, and BF115—at the Miami International Boat Show 2025, which ran from February 12–16 in Miami, Florida. These refreshed models will be released in Japan, North America, Europe, and Asia, beginning in mid-2025.

Refreshed BF150

The newly introduced outboards feature a completely redesigned exterior, inspired by the “Noble Motion Form” concept first seen on Honda Marine’s flagship BF350, which launched in early 2024. The updated styling aims to deliver a more refined, high-quality aesthetic.

Refreshed BF250

Functionally, these models incorporate several key enhancements to improve ease of use and control. Notable upgrades include a new flush-mount electronic remote-control system (DBW) and a 7-inch multifunction display, designed for a more intuitive and ergonomic user experience. Operators will also benefit from advanced features such as cruise control, an automatic trim support function that adjusts trim based on engine RPM and boat speed, and a new automatic tilt function that fully raises or lowers the outboard with minimal effort. These innovations bring the performance of Honda’s mid-range outboards closer to the smooth, responsive handling of the BF350.

Further advancements have been made in fuel efficiency and environmental performance. The BF250, BF225, and BF200 now feature an oxygen sensor for improved air-fuel ratio control, enhancing fuel economy beyond Honda’s already class-leading standards. Maintenance has also been streamlined, with a new mechanism that prevents oil leakage when changing the oil filter.
