Scout Boats unveils the 670 LXS – The world’s largest outboard-powered yacht

South Carolina-based Scout Boats Inc. has officially introduced its all-new flagship model, the 670 LXS, a luxurious and high-performance sportfishing yacht that is now the largest outboard-powered yacht in the world. Designed in collaboration with London-based superyacht studio Harrison Eidsgaard, the 67-foot luxury sport model was unveiled at an exclusive VIP event for potential buyers.

The 670 LXS is the first model in a planned two-boat lineup, with the 670 LXF (Luxury Fish) set to follow. Both yachts will be powered by five Mercury V-12 600HP engines, producing a staggering 3,000 horsepower. This powerhouse configuration is expected to deliver an impressive top speed of 60 mph, a fast cruising speed of 40 mph, and a range of approximately 500 miles.

Scout Boats is renowned for its commitment to innovation, craftsmanship, and performance, and the 670 LXS is a bold step forward for the brand. According to Scout Boats CEO Steve Potts, the launch of the new model represents a major milestone in the company’s evolution.

“We’ve poured everything we have into this new flagship, and we are excited that the public can now see what we have spent the last three years developing,” said Potts. “This model is not just for our customers who want to move up from the 530 LXF. It elevates the entire Scout lineup, and we have no doubt that some of the innovations developed for this model will trickle down into the rest of our range.”

Scout Boats has built a strong reputation in the luxury sportfishing and crossover yacht market, offering models ranging from 17 feet to 67 feet. The introduction of the 670 LXS solidifies its standing as a leader in high-performance luxury boating.

Design Collaboration with Harrison Eidsgaard

The 670 LXS was designed in partnership with Harrison Eidsgaard, a firm known for its work on some of the world’s most prestigious superyachts. Peder Eidsgaard, co-founder of the design studio, highlighted the seamless blend of Scout Boats’ sportfishing heritage with superyacht styling and detailing.
