Get ready for sun, snags and Sea Rays

Freedom Boat Club (FBC) is hosting an Open Day event at Sports Marine, Westhaven Marina, this Saturday, 5th April, from 9 am until 12 noon. Situated at 131 Westhaven Drive, next to Burnsco, the event provides boating enthusiasts and interested visitors an opportunity to explore FBC’s fleet, including popular Sea Ray and Rayglass boats.

Attendees can take advantage of test-driving the boats on display, offering a hands-on experience on the water. The friendly team from Freedom Boat Club will be available throughout the morning to answer questions and provide information about the club’s offerings and operations.

Understanding Freedom Boat Club

FBC operates under a membership model designed to provide hassle-free boating. Members use boats without the typical responsibilities associated with boat ownership, such as maintenance, cleaning, insurance, and storage, all of which are managed by FBC.

Training and support

Freedom Boat Club emphasises safety and ease of use. They offer training sessions for members, regardless of skill level, ensuring all boaters can confidently enjoy their time on the water. Dockside support is also provided, simplifying the loading, unloading, and docking processes.

Global boating opportunities

Although New Zealand’s peak boating season is drawing to a close, FBC members can continue to enjoy boating through reciprocal membership privileges. Members have access to over 400 club locations worldwide, including popular destinations such as Australia’s Gold Coast and Europe’s Mediterranean coastlines.

The Open Day event will feature a casual atmosphere with a BBQ available for visitors. Those interested in attending or taking a boat for a test drive are encouraged to RSVP due to limited spaces.
