Available for installation from Q2 2025, this innovative system was unveiled at the Discover Boating Miami International Boat Show in Miami Beach, Florida. And now it is being demonstrated live at the Auckland Boat Show – the first live demo at a boat show anywhere in the world! Come and see the joystick in action down at the Marina precinct.

Compatible with V12, V10, and V8 Verado outboards equipped with Mercury’s electric steering, the new system integrates a bow thruster for single-engine applications, offering precise control during slow-speed operations and docking manoeuvres and enabling vessel control capabilities not possible on traditional single-engine applications, like 360o rotation of the vessel and sideways movements.

Mercury’s new Joystick Piloting system also introduces advanced features such as Skyhook, Bowhook and Drifthook for boats powered by a single outboard engine. Mercury has also announced a partnership with Quick, adding to the current list of compatible bow thrusters from Vetus® and Sleipner®.

A software upgrade due for release later in Q2 2025 adds additional features to Single Engine Joystick Steering applications (without thruster), including position hold for single engine vessels.
