Held across two consecutive Wednesday evenings—25 June and 2 July 2025—Lagoon Days is designed to be accessible, informal, and packed with value. Each session runs from 5:00pm to 9:30pm, and both events include drinks and nibbles to keep the conversations flowing.

Session One – Offshore cruising & Raymarine tech night

Wednesday 25 June | 5:00–9:30pm | 36° Brokers, Westhaven Office

The first evening focuses on offshore cruising preparation, with a particular emphasis on heading for the Pacific. Keynote speaker Viki Moore, director of the Island Cruising Association (and organiser of the Pacific Rally and Down Under Rally), will draw from her extensive experience to discuss popular cruising routes, rally options, and how to properly outfit your vessel for offshore conditions. From provisioning to passage planning, Moore’s session promises to be both aspirational and grounded in real-world know-how.

Also on the agenda is a live demonstration of Raymarine navigation technology by Beacon Marine. Attendees will have the opportunity to get hands-on with the latest chartplotters and learn how to use them effectively, whether navigating coastal waters or bluewater routes. This session is particularly valuable for anyone upgrading their electronics or seeking to better understand their existing systems.

There’ll also be a presentation on the current Lagoon model range, including new designs recently added to the lineup. Whether you’re dreaming of ownership or seriously considering it, this is your chance to see what’s on offer—and what’s coming next.

For those looking to bring a Lagoon to New Zealand, 36° Brokers will walk through delivery options including European pickup vs New Zealand delivery, with a discussion of customs and tax considerations as well as skippered delivery services.

Session Two – Sail skills, seamanship & ownership models

Wednesday 2 July | 5:00–9:30pm | 36° Brokers, Westhaven Office

The second evening shifts focus from offshore passages to coastal cruising, practical skills, and shared ownership options. A local favourite, the North Island’s stunning coastline is a sailor’s playground, and this session will highlight top anchorages and cruising spots across the Upper North Island—perfect for both long weekends and extended stays.

A practical discussion on sail trimming and heavy weather handling follows, giving attendees a better understanding of how to optimise performance in a variety of conditions. Whether you’re new to sail or looking to sharpen your skills, this session promises valuable takeaways.

Ownership is a big step—and for many, syndication or charter ownership can be a smart way to get afloat. 36° Brokers will outline various ownership models, including shared ownership and revenue-generating charter options—ideal for buyers keen to balance lifestyle and investment.

One of the more hands-on moments of the night is a rope splicing session, where attendees will get a practical look at one of the most useful seamanship skills a boat owner can have. Whether it’s creating new dock lines or fixing an emergency break, knowing how to splice can be a game-changer.

Come for the learning, stay for the community

While the content on offer is rich and relevant, Lagoon Days is also very much a community event. Each session wraps with drinks, nibbles, and open-floor networking, giving you time to talk boats with other attendees and get personal advice from the 36° Brokers team and guest speakers.

You don’t have to be a Lagoon owner—or even in the market for one—to attend. The sessions are open to all boating enthusiasts, from power to sail, newbies to veterans. If you’re passionate about boating and keen to improve your knowledge, this is the place to be.
