This year marks the 41st edition of the regatta, one of Fiji’s longest-running and most cherished international sporting tourism events. First held in 1984, the event has grown into a legendary gathering that draws yachties, cruisers, and competitive sailors from all over the world. Whether you’re there to race, relax, or revel, Musket Cove Regatta Week offers something for every kind of boatie.

Hosted by the Musket Cove Yacht Club & Marina, the regatta is proudly presented in 2025 by The Yacht Sales Co., continuing a tradition of strong industry support for the event. Over five days, participants can expect a packed programme featuring a mix of daily races, beach parties, pirate-themed shenanigans, local food and culture, and a few tropical surprises along the way.

The support of The Yacht Sales Co. as major sponsor adds another layer of professionalism and profile to this already standout event. CEO Mark Elkington described the regatta as a natural fit for the company’s strategic growth across the region.

“The Musket Cove Fiji Regatta holds a special place in the hearts of sailors worldwide, and we are proud to be supporting this much-loved event,” said Elkington.

“This partnership is a perfect alignment with our strategic expansion in the region, with sales locations now in Fiji, Tahiti, New Caledonia and Auckland, as well as Australia, Southeast Asia, Panama and the Mediterranean.”

What to expect in 2025

Following the huge success of the 40th anniversary in 2024 — which saw more than 60 yachts pack the bay — this year’s event is shaping up to be just as lively. While the full itinerary is still to be announced, past highlights hint at what’s to come:

Competitive but friendly sailing events with courses designed for a variety of boats and skill levels. Social events every night, including a welcome dinner, nightly prizegivings, and live music under the stars. The ever-popular Pirates Day, where crews race to nearby Beachcomber Island in full costume. Themed parties that embrace the regatta’s rich history and the region’s festive spirit.

With Musket Cove’s laid-back yet well-equipped marina facilities, sailors will find it an ideal base for both racing and relaxation. The on-site resort offers everything from barefoot beach bars to spa treatments and poolside lounging, making it easy to switch from sails to sundowners.

Why sail to Fiji?

Beyond the regatta, Fiji remains one of the best cruising destinations in the world. With 333 islands to explore, endless reef systems, and a warm welcome from locals, it’s a sailor’s dream. Musket Cove is a natural hub for cruisers thanks to its sheltered anchorage, fuel dock, boatyard, and close proximity to other island groups including:
