Maritimo interior design: crafting luxury and personality at sea

Published

Over the past few years, Maritimo Interior Design has become a defining feature of the brand’s identity. Maritimo has reimagined yacht interiors to reflect the same excellence found in its world-class engineering and legendary bluewater performance. Today, every detail—inside and out—reflects precision, sophistication, and a deeply personal design approach.

Elevating interiors: a personalised design journey

Maritimo moved from a standardised interior approach to a highly curated process. Maritimo Interior Design now allows each owner to personalise their yacht’s interior to suit their own tastes. This evolution was driven by Maritimo’s collaboration with interior designers Niamh Brennan and Sonya Romeo from The Textile & Design Studio. Together, they’ve created a refined, consistent programme that balances elegance with practical build execution.

Romeo explains:

“It’s about giving owners creative control while offering our production team clarity.” This meant repositioning hull linings and refining ceilings, pelmets, and panels. The result? Interiors that feel lighter, more open, and beautifully crafted.

Materials that blend style and durability

The team behind Maritimo Interior Design introduced decorative Sunbrella fabrics in all staterooms and shared areas. These premium textiles are resistant to bleach and chemicals, carry a five-year warranty, and feature designs made exclusively for Maritimo yachts.

Owners also appreciate new timber panelling on the accommodation deck. Popular in cooler climates like New Zealand and northern USA, the timber adds warmth and a tactile quality to interior spaces. This detail speaks directly to evolving global client preferences.

The Maritimo Design Studio Experience

Maritimo has unveiled a dedicated Maritimo Interior Design studio at its Gold Coast factory. This bespoke space mirrors the understated luxury found aboard every Maritimo vessel. Clients begin their design journey in a private lounge with a barista-made coffee or glass of champagne, then move to the studio for a one-on-one consultation.

“It’s more than a showroom—it’s a creative experience,” says Romeo.

Clients feel relaxed, heard, and involved in every decision. The design process starts with the Maritimo Virtual Configurator—available online—which allows owners to visualise their yacht’s interior combinations before moving to tactile selections.

Interior design boxes: where vision becomes reality

To support the process, Maritimo Interior Design introduced four bespoke design boxes. These are presented in a premium kit fitted with foam compartments that hold sample timbers, finishes, fabrics, and colour palettes.

Each owner selects from Oak, Teak, or Walnut timber species, then chooses from four base colour themes—Dune, Haven, Oyster, and Cove. These palettes offer timeless foundations. Clients then layer in soft furnishing options inspired by iconic Australian locations: Kimberley (earthy), Balmoral (monochrome), Hamilton (denim blue), and Hayman (navy).

Romeo notes: “Dune and Cove embrace classic beige and taupe. Haven and Oyster lean toward cooler greys. We offer matching leather and vinyl options to complete the look while supporting resale value.”

Seamless global access to interior design

Maritimo Interior Design is not confined to the factory. Design boxes and digital tools are available in showrooms, dealerships, and boat shows worldwide. Clients overseas receive physical samples, enabling them to make informed choices wherever they are.

“We support the entire design journey no matter where our clients are,” says Romeo.

Whether visiting a showroom, attending an international boat show, or working remotely, every owner can access Maritimo’s premium design experience.

To further assist, clients can explore 360-degree virtual tours of completed interiors. This visual guidance helps solidify decisions and build confidence in final selections.

Expert guidance from concept to completion

The Maritimo Interior Design team supports owners through every stage. From the first virtual layout to the final selection of finishes and furnishings, the team combines creative flair with practical know-how. The process is efficient, engaging, and built around the client.

From master staterooms to saloons and bridge decks, the interiors of each Maritimo yacht express individuality while staying true to the brand’s luxurious DNA. Every texture, tone, and material is chosen to elevate comfort, style, and performance.

Maritimo Interior Design transforms each yacht into a personalised sanctuary. It’s not just about finishes—it’s about storytelling. Every element reflects the owner’s tastes while delivering enduring value and visual harmony. Whether cruising New Zealand’s coastline, hosting guests in Sydney Harbour, or voyaging abroad, a Maritimo interior defines luxury that feels unmistakably yours.
